Trail running & hiking

Reaching the finish line at the Spring Lebanon 50K.

Why run?

I enjoy running for so many reasons: the headspace, the sense of progress, seeing beautiful places, spending time with other runners, and more.

Due to doing humanitarian work, I’ve often faced restrictions on my personal freedom that have prevented me from training and racing. This means I savour the opportunity to run, rather than taking it for granted.

Past races

As of September 2025, I’ve raced in four trail ultramarathons:

July 2025: Mestia 100K – 8th place
June 2025: Spring Lebanon 50K – 1st place
February 2019: Hong Kong Fast 50K – 3rd place
February 2017: Bolton Abbey 50K – 2nd place

Coaching

In January 2026 I completed my UESCA ultrarunning coach certification. If you would like to enquire about my coaching services, please use the contact form on my availability page.

At the northern terminus of the Pacific Crest Trail.

Why hike?

For many of the same reasons as running! Add to those the chance to spend extended periods in the wilderness, live simply, trade noise for quiet, and eat unlimited peanut M&Ms …are you convinced yet?

Past hikes

In 2024, I thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail. Starting at the US/Mexico border on 27th April, I covered 4,200km+ in a continuous footpath, reaching the US/Canada border in 109 days.
